Frequently asked questions
How does booking work?
Pick an open date on the activity's calendar and book it: your booking is confirmed. Per-boat trips take the whole boat, so once a date is booked it closes. Don't see the date you want? Email us from the activity page.
Do I need to know how to swim?
It depends on the activity. Requirements are listed on each activity page.
What's your cancellation policy?
If weather cancels the trip, we move you to another date that works for you, or refund you.
Can I pay in pesos? In cash?
Prices are set in Mexican pesos, and cash is pesos only. Pay in cash at the meeting point; cash payments get the discount shown in the booking widget. The USD amounts on the site are conversions at the day's exchange rate.
What are the seasons like?
Summer is great: when the rainy season starts, the water gets clear, calm and warm (July to October). September and October are when hurricane effects can hit Puerto Vallarta, which can interrupt some days. In winter the water is cooler, but better than in the US and Canada, and still great for everyone. Whale watching runs November to April.
Do you pick up from hotels?
No. Every activity starts at the NEA office, Niza 142, Puerto Vallarta.
Can I get an invoice (factura)?
Yes, we can issue invoices if needed.
What's included in the price?
Each activity page lists what's included. Gear rental, where offered, is priced at the office.
Is it safe?
Small groups, AIDA-certified freediving instruction, and close attention to safety protocols. Every guest signs NEA's liability waiver in person at the NEA office before the activity.
